Role OverviewThis position is responsible for compounding in a production manufacturing facility. Compounders add raw materials and follow formula requirements to complete production orders using equipment such as mixers, spray dryers and blending tanks. They must follow standard batch instructions, weigh dyes, chemicals, monitor viscosities, sample batches for lab testing, and document work per food safety guidelines.
Job Responsibilities- Follow standard batching instructions to measure or weigh ingredients.
- Lifting heavy drums and bags while wearing proper PPE.
- Transfer materials, set up equipment, utilize piping and parts efficiently.
- Strictly follow detailed instructions to monitor equipment, control temperatures and consistency of the mixes.
- Work in a fast-paced environment, multitask and perform under pressure while remaining flexible.
- Sample and test for various attributes from the mixes after completion.
- Follow sanitary guidelines for CIP and cleaning.
- Fill out necessary paperwork and batch sheets accompanying mixes.
- Consistently perform assigned duties safely and in accordance with company safety policies.
- Consistently perform and complete assigned duties without errors or defects.
- HS Diploma/GED preferred.
- General knowledge of workplace safety and quality processes including GMPs & allergens.
- Must follow safety requirements and wear appropriate PPE (steel-toed shoes, safety goggles, mask).
- Attention to detail and basic mathematics ability.
- Problem-solving and communication skills.
- Capability to wear respirator with Doctor's approval; passing respiratory and pulmonary function testing.
- Manual lifting of 50 lbs continuously when necessary.
- Learn and follow operational and cleaning procedures.
- Complete required documentation and record-keeping.
- Work overtime when required.
- Use and read scales; accurate tare; recognize unit of measure.
- Basic computer skills with RF scanner experience preferred.
Starting Pay: $19.00/hr actual compensation depends on geography, skills, experience, and other factors.
