Packaging Operator I
Position Summary:
The Packaging Operator I is responsible for packaging of flavors (powders, spray dry, liquids, emulsions and extracts) per directions on each batch ticket. This role is to work closely with the Batch Compounders to package batches with food safety, quality, efficiency and accuracy priorities. The role fills production orders from production equipment such as mixers, spray dryers and blending tanks. Must accurately fill the required packaging type, read and apply labels and follow safety procedures.
The role is responsible for packaging the correct finished product quantity with the correct label requirements.
- Pack production batches and monitor equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Record production and other data accurately on specified forms and documents.
- Follow sanitary guidelines for CIP and cleaning.
- Transfer materials, set up equipment, supplies and packaging materials efficiently.
- Learn and understand food safety concepts and their importance in making our products.
- Promptly observe and clearly communicate food or other product quality matters to Shift Leads or Management.
- Consistently perform assigned duties in a safe manner and in accordance with the company’s safety policies.
- Consistently perform and complete assigned duties without errors or other defects.
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.
- Consume required materials using RF scanner and accurately report batch quantities.
- Must have attention to detail and can perform basic mathematics.
- Ability to manually lift 50 lbs. continuously when necessary.
- Must follow safety requirements, forklift policy and wear required PPE.
- Ability to problem solve and communicate when something is wrong and to recognize and report the problem.
- Ability to work overtime when necessary.
- Ability to learn and consistently follow operational and cleaning procedures.
- Ability to learn and consistently complete required documentation and record‑keeping requirements.
Starting Rate : $17.00/HR Monday - Thursday 5a - 3:30p. The actual compensation that you will be offered will depend on a variety of factors including geography, skills and abilities, education, experience and other relevant factors. This role will remain open until filled.
