Your Role:Packaging Operator I – 1st Shift
The Packaging Operator I is responsible for packaging flavors (powders, spray dry, liquids, emulsions and extracts) per directions on each batch ticket. The role works closely with Batch Compounders to package batches with food safety, quality, efficiency and accuracy priorities.
ResponsibilitiesThe Packaging Operator I will be responsible for:
- Pack production batches and monitor equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Accurately fill the required packaging type, read and apply labels, and follow safety procedures.
- Record production and other data accurately on specified forms and documents.
- Follow sanitary guidelines for CIP and cleaning.
- Transfer materials, set up equipment, supplies and packaging materials efficiently.
- Learn and understand food safety concepts and their importance in making our products.
- Promptly observe and clearly communicate food or other product quality matters to Shift Leads or Management.
- Consistently perform assigned duties in a safe manner and in accordance with the company’s safety policies.
- Consistently perform and complete assigned duties without errors or other defects.
- Fill production orders from production equipment such as mixers, spray dryers and blending tanks.
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.
- Consume required materials using RF scanner and accurately report batch quantities.
- Have attention to detail and can perform basic mathematics.
- Ability to manually lift 50 lbs. continuously when necessary.
- Follow safety requirements, forklift policy and wear required PPE.
- Problem‑solve and communicate when something is wrong and recognize and report the problem.
- Work overtime when necessary.
- Learn and consistently follow operational and cleaning procedures.
- Learn and consistently complete required documentation and record‑keeping requirements.
