Quality Control Technician
This person will be responsible for leading a primary program, conducting training, and initiating quality investigations; in addition to calibrating laboratory equipment, microbial/ raw material sampling, and testing of incoming raw materials, intermediates, and finished product samples.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead primary program and communicate findings/status to relevant functional groups.
- Support multiple programs to ensure site adherence to quality, food safety, and organizational objectives.
- Provide timely and consistent communication between internal cross functional groups to support day-to-day operations.
- Lead, maintain, and conduct training of relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) with QC Team members and cross-functional partners.
- Review and revise standard operating procedures to align with current process.
- Champion investigations by performing routine root cause analysis (RCA/CAPA); have strong knowledge of how to conduct investigations and use trouble-shooting tactics to solve technical problems.
- Perform preventative maintenance and/or troubleshooting on laboratory equipment.
- All prior responsibilities expected of a QC Tech I, such as:
- Perform daily testing of all raw materials, intermediates, and finished products, ensuring they are tested in accordance with established SOPs.
- Responsible for ensuring laboratory and production records are in compliance.
- Discern sensory/organoleptic differences between tested raw materials, intermediates, and finished products for flavors and flavor chemicals.
Professional Experience/
Qualifications:
- Experience/certificates in HACCP, FSP, ISO 22000, SQF, BRC, or equivalent Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) criteria preferred.
- Experience with QC related instruments such as pH meters, refractometer, densitometer, colorimeter, GC, and auto-titrators preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products. (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
Education:
- Bachelor of Science in a related field Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or Food Science/Technology and/or Business related with 1+ years of experience or High school Diploma with 3+ years of Laboratory/Flavor industry experience.
Key Proficiencies:
- Exhibit professional composure during day-to-day activities and communications.
- Showcase the ability to effectively set priorities to meet day-to-day operational and laboratory needs.
Starting Hourly Rate : $21.00/HR (More depending on experience)
Monday - Friday 12:30p-9p
