At NMCSC, a teacher's goal is to provide each student with the help, counsel, and learning experience needed to make progress toward educational goals established, to create a flexible instructional program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth, and to establish effective rapport with pupils; to motivate pupils to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to live a rewarding life in an ever-changing world.
Responsibilities- Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the student's maturity and interests.
- Communicates with parents through conferences and other means to discuss student’s progress.
- Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized and small group instruction; adapts the curriculum to the needs of each pupil.
- Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
- Establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units and projects, and communicates these objectives to pupils.
- Exercises good judgment and works effectively with all school personnel, parents and students.
- Maintains compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Performs other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
- Holds or is eligible to hold a valid Indiana teaching license.
- History of excellent work attendance.
- Perform duties in a professional and personable manner.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- Applicants must be able to pass a Safe Hiring Solutions background check.
