Job Title

Position Criteria:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience with translating and interpreting.
• Must be bilingual (Arabic or Spanish required)

Performance Criteria:

• Translate materials to and from English.
• Interpret conversations to and from English.
• Interest and ability to work effectively with students who are learning English.
• Understanding of English language development.
• Knowledge of evidence-based instructional strategies for English Learners and proven record of successful implementation.
• Provide ongoing support to classroom teachers as they implement instruction to English Language Learners in their classroom.
• Collaborate with ESOL teachers, multiple grade levels, and teams in order to meet student needs.
• Administer grade level assessments from general education classrooms as needed.
• Knowledge of different cultures and ability to share that knowledge with students and staff.
• Work effectively with parents, students, and staff.
• Support families as they acclimate to the school system.
• Effective behavior management skills.
• Follow directions and work without close supervision.
• Maintain accurate student records with confidentiality as directed.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Use technology as needed
