Monday-Thursday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM & Friday, 8:00 AM-1:00 PM

Central States Pain Clinic (CSP) provides advanced interventional pain care in West Des Moines and Ankeny. Our multidisciplinary team uses minimally invasive, image-guided techniques to treat chronic pain with precision and compassion. The Medical Scribe works closely with physicians to document patient encounters in real time and support efficient clinical workflows. This position maintains accurate medical records, assists with EHR management, and anticipates provider needs throughout the patient visit.

• Accompany physicians during examinations and accurately document medical histories, findings, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, and follow-up instructions.
• Transcribe physician orders for labs, imaging, medications, and other treatments.
• Document procedures and maintain complete, accurate electronic health records.
• Schedule and reschedule appointments, including proactively offering earlier openings when cancellations occur.
• Schedule follow-up appointments at checkout and document any inability to schedule follow-up care.
• Perform additional duties that support efficient clinical operations.

Required:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Excellent communication, listening, typing, and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
• Ability to multitask and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to maintain strict patient confidentiality
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar software
• Professional, dependable, and team-oriented approach

Preferred:

• At least 1 year of Medical Scribe or related experience
• Experience with EHR systems, particularly eCW
• Familiarity with AI scribe technology
• Ability to learn quickly, think on your feet, and take initiative
