Auto Body Technician – Gerber Collision & Glass
The Auto Body Technician is responsible for providing an exceptional customer experience through meticulous assessment and quality repair of each vehicle, restoring it to pre-accident condition. The technician disassembles, repairs, and reassembles vehicles, playing a pivotal role in achieving our speed, quality, and customer excellence goals. They work in alignment with all team members to meet repair facility KPIs and serve as a dedicated Brand Ambassador for The Boyd Group.
Key Job Responsibilities- Ensure consistent execution of the WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
- Plan repair work, prepare cost estimates for customers, and use tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers.
- Remove dents, dimples, and other minor body damage; mix and apply filler resins when necessary.
- Realign car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
- Remove damaged sections and replace them with new or aftermarket parts, including glass and windshields.
- Replace or repair interior parts as needed.
- Weld, attach, and fit parts and prep and repaint vehicles with factory‑specified paint or agreed‑upon equivalent.
- Attempt to complete work orders within labor time guidelines and ensure all work is executed correctly by inspecting vehicles after repair.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of a technical school program or a 3‑year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.
- Ability to read job orders and work with little supervision.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other repairers.
- Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies.
- Thorough understanding of how to use required tools.
- Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
- Must be able to visually inspect vehicle damage in various weather conditions.
- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.

Compensation$70,000 – $125,000+ per year based on experience.
