Shift InformationFull-Time, 8am-4pm, on call weekends
As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing general maintenance and repair duties in two buildings. The position requires the ability to work multiple shifts, including weekends, holidays, and extended hours outdoors in varying weather conditions. Teamwork and communication across departments are essential for success.
Required Experience- High School Diploma, GED, or some college credits from a technical school; or one or more years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient in all aspects of apartment maintenance, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, structural, and appliance repair; experience with drywall repairs and painting are essential.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondences.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Positive attitude and willingness to work hard while providing excellent customer service.
- Operate various types of tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other team members.
- Identify and report broken equipment or uncertain conditions to the department supervisor.
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and safe condition that meets safety regulations.
- Perform preventative maintenance on machinery and the building or grounds as required.
- Maintain a positive customer service attitude in interactions with staff and property residents.
This position entails standing for long periods, communicating effectively with others, sitting, standing, walking, and using hands to handle keyboards, telephones, paper, files, and other equipment. The employee may be required to reach with hands and arms, review detailed documents and read computer screens, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Noise levels are moderate, and occasional travel to different locations may be required.
