Project Accountant

Location: Waukegan, IL
Compensation: $80,000 - $85,000 + Bonus

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant to join a growing accounting team. This Project Accountant role offers exposure to both project-based accounting and general accounting functions in a stable, team-focused environment.

The ideal Project Accountant will enjoy working in a fast-paced setting, managing multiple priorities, and partnering with operations and accounting teams to support financial reporting and project administration.

• Manage project-related billing and invoicing activities
• Prepare and distribute project financial documentation
• Track project costs and support revenue recognition activities
• Maintain supporting documentation and ensure compliance with internal processes
• Assist with project financial analysis and reporting

• Prepare monthly accruals and journal entries
• Perform account reconciliations and assist with month-end close
• Support financial statement preparation and reporting
• Analyze variances and investigate discrepancies
• Assist with special projects and process improvement initiatives

• 2+ years of accounting experience in a project-based environment
• Experience supporting billing, contracts, project accounting, or related functions
• General ledger and account reconciliation experience preferred
• Strong Excel skills and CMiC software experience.
