Position OverviewThe Division of Developmental Disabilities is seeking to hire an Office Coordinator for the Kiley Developmental Center located in Waukegan, Illinois to serve as secretary, performing a variety of complex and specialized secretarial duties. Keyboards a wide variety of letters, memos, forms, training manuals, etc., involving highly specialized medical terminology from handwritten copy and cassette tape. Utilizes various complex computer programs.
Prepares store requisitions for pulling and updating inventory information. Establishes and maintains the office filing system, maintains tickler and service files.
- Serves as secretary to the Business Administrator, performing a variety of complex and specialized secretarial duties.
- Keyboards a wide variety of letters, memos, forms, training manuals, etc., involving highly specialized medical terminology from handwritten copy and cassette tape.
- Utilizes various complex computer programs.
- Prepares store requisitions for pulling and updating inventory information.
- Establishes and maintains the office filing system, maintains tickler and service files.
- Performs other duties required or assigned that are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
- Requires knowledge skill and mental development equivalent to two (2) years of secretarial/business college; OR Completion of high school and two (2) years of related office experience; OR Two (2) years of independent business experience.
- Requires ability to keyboard accurately at thirty (30) WPM.
- Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers.
- Requires the ability to work after business hours, weekends and holidays.
- Requires the ability to travel in the performance of job duties.
- Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
- Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.
