ASPYRE of Waukegan - Scheduler
ASPYRE of Waukegan is seeking a highly organized and dependable Scheduler to join our team. The Scheduler plays a vital role in ensuring appropriate staffing coverage throughout the facility by coordinating employee schedules, managing staffing needs, and supporting department leaders with workforce planning.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment while maintaining excellent communication with staff and leadership.

- Create and maintain staffing schedules for nursing and facility departments
- Ensure adequate staffing coverage for all shifts in accordance with facility needs and staffing requirements
- Coordinate replacement coverage for call-offs, vacations, leaves of absence, and open shifts
- Communicate staffing needs and schedule changes with department managers and staff
- Monitor overtime, agency usage, and staffing patterns to support operational goals
- Maintain accurate scheduling records and staffing reports
- Verify employee availability, attendance, and schedule adherence
- Assist with tracking and maintaining employee timekeeping records as needed
- Work closely with Human Resources, Nursing Leadership, and department managers regarding staffing needs
- Respond promptly to staffing emergencies and last-minute scheduling adjustments
- Ensure compliance with facility policies, labor regulations, and staffing requirements
- Maintain confidentiality of employee and resident information
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous scheduling experience in a healthcare, skilled nursing, long-term care, or related setting preferred
- Knowledge of staffing practices and scheduling software preferred
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
