1st Shift | Monday–Friday Salary: $110,000–$120,000 + Bonus Potential
Randstad USA is seeking an experienced Project Manager for a direct hire opportunity supporting a chemical manufacturing facility in Waukegan, IL. This position is responsible for managing capital projects, process improvements, equipment upgrades, safety initiatives, and facility modifications while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities- Lead engineering and capital projects from concept, design, budgeting, execution, and startup
- Manage equipment upgrades, process improvements, safety projects, and facility modifications
- Develop project scopes, timelines, budgets, and business cases
- Deliver site capital investment projects while meeting cost, quality, and schedule objectives
- Support process optimization and operational efficiency improvements
- Manage Management of Change (MOC) programs and facilitate Process Hazard Analyses (PHA)
- Coordinate contractors, vendors, and third‑party service providers
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, PSM, environmental, and site safety requirements
- Drive stakeholder engagement and operator involvement throughout project execution
- Support commissioning, training, and project handoff activities
- Maintain project documentation and regulatory compliance records
- Promote continuous improvement and engineering best practices throughout the facility
- Bachelor's Degree in one of the following:
Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering - 5–7+ years of project engineering or project management experience
- Experience in chemical manufacturing environments, especially paints and coatings manufacturing preferred
- Strong knowledge of process safety, MOC programs, and hazardous manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with OSHA, NFPA, and PSM regulations
- $110,000–$120,000 base salary
