Role Summary
Randstad USA is seeking a Reliability Engineer for a direct hire opportunity supporting a chemical and coatings manufacturing facility in Waukegan, IL. The role will drive equipment reliability, preventative and predictive maintenance strategies, root cause investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives across the facility. Candidates with experience in chemical, resin, coatings, paint, or process manufacturing environments are highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and improve Predictive Maintenance (PdM) and Preventive Maintenance (PM) programs
- Review maintenance history and equipment performance data to identify trends and eliminate recurring failures
- Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEA) activities
- Establish equipment criticality rankings and maintenance strategies
- Manage reliability improvement projects and track performance metrics
- Develop and maintain spare parts strategies and CMMS equipment structures
- Support Mechanical Integrity (MI), Process Safety Management (PSM), and Management of Change (MOC) programs
- Partner with maintenance, engineering, production, and leadership teams to improve equipment reliability
- Coach maintenance personnel on reliability-centered maintenance practices
- Support capital projects by developing maintenance plans, equipment standards, and reliability requirements
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, uptime, quality, and cost reduction
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related engineering discipline OR 6–10 years of maintenance and reliability experience in lieu of degree
- 3–5 years of experience in a chemical, coatings, paint, resin, or process manufacturing environment
- Strong CMMS experience
- Knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) and Management of Change (MOC)
- $100,000–$110,000 annual salary

Work Hours:
7 AM – 4 PM
