Product Engineer

Responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing products to meet customer needs and company goals. Works with cross‑functional teams, conducts testing and analysis, ensures product quality, and manages the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop new products and improve existing products based on feedback and market research.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, prototype development, and testing to validate designs.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing to optimize production processes and ensure quality.
  • Analyze product performance and identify improvement areas.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of specifications, design changes, and testing results.
  • Support troubleshooting and resolution of post‑launch issues.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Develop and manage detailed NPI plans, schedules, and timelines.
  • Perform design for manufacturability reviews and provide feedback.
  • Act as liaison between engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives for new products.
  • Coordinate and support pilot runs and initial high‑volume production.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Create presentations for senior management review.
  • Complete improvement projects as needed.
  • Work with support departments to drive results.
  • Follow 6S procedures.
  • Collaborate with Toolroom and Maintenance for equipment repair and new tool development.
  • Attend daily huddles and other meetings to ensure smooth communication.
  • Follow safety policies and attend scheduled safety meetings.
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.

  • At least one year of experience in product development, design, or engineering.
  • Proven experience in manufacturing process development and optimization, preferably in a high‑volume environment.
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of CAD/CAM, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Strong understanding of product development and production processes.
  • Ability to work cross‑functionally and manage multiple projects.
  • Effective organization and communication skills.
  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Agile project management.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards relevant to the industry.

Salary and Compensation

The annual base is expected to be between $75,000 and $82,000, depending on geography, skills, education, and experience.

Benefits include medical, dental, vision insurance; 401(k) retirement plan with up to 5% employer match; life and disability insurance; paid vacation, holidays, and a volunteer day off per year.
