Job Summary
This position will provide finance support for the Medline Ready Care facilities in Waukegan, IL (RCW), Arlington Heights, IL (AHP), and Mankato, MN (MAN). The role reports to a Group Controller and partners daily with leadership teams to provide key business analytics and recommendations that drive profitability. Responsibilities include analyzing production volumes, controlling manufacturing expenses, reviewing capital expenditures, and acting as a business partner to all functions within the manufacturing facilities.
The ideal candidate has prior experience in manufacturing finance, is a self‑starter, energetic, and embraces challenges with a positive attitude.
- Review, analyze, and present the plant’s financial results, trends and metrics on a monthly basis to manufacturing location leaders, finance and non‑finance leaders.
- Facilitate and own the development of the annual operating budget (AOP) and subsequent forecasts.
- Track and monitor plant costs, performing variance analysis and investigating drivers such as production volumes, factory expenses and absorption.
- Continuously review manufacturing processes, cost of materials, capital investments, and location costs.
- Build financial models, perform scenario testing and ROI analyses to support decision‑making by senior leadership.
- Maintain knowledge of Bill of Materials (BOM) development.
- Set and maintain product cost standards.
- Collaborate and partner with product divisions and front‑line manufacturing staff to improve profitability.
- Provide support for implementing new processes, controls and reporting requirements that expand financial tools needed for key business decisions at plant locations.
- Track plant cost‑savings results and report against set targets.
- Conduct monthly and quarterly financial business reviews with manufacturing location leaders.
Job Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma.
- At least 5 years of experience in financial planning, reporting, and/or analysis.
- At least 1 year of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- At least 1 year of experience providing financial advice and counsel to P&L or business owners.
- Experience leading profit improvement initiatives.
- Advanced skill level in Microsoft Excel and other ERP financial systems.
- Must be willing to travel for business purposes, within and out of state.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; MBA preferred.
- Experience with ERPs/tools such as SAP, Oracle, PowerBI, Tableau, or Alteryx.
Anticipated salary range: $101,000 – $152,000 annually, contingent on location, education, experience, skills, and performance. The role includes bonus and/or incentive eligibility. Mandatory benefits for employees working 30 or more hours per week include health insurance, life and disability, 401(k) contributions, and paid time off. Mandated benefits for employees working fewer than 30 hours include 401(k) contributions and access to employee assistance programs and resource groups.
