Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Banker role located in Waukegan, IL. The Banker will support customers with day-to-day banking needs, including opening and servicing accounts, processing deposits and withdrawals, and assisting with digital banking tools. The role will involve assessing customer financial needs, recommending appropriate products such as checking, savings, credit cards, personal loans, and home equity solutions, and referring customers to specialists when needed.

The Banker will handle routine transactions accurately, follow established compliance and security procedures, and maintain detailed records in banking systems. The position also includes participating in branch sales and service initiatives, resolving customer issues promptly and professionally, and contributing to a welcoming and inclusive branch environment.

Qualifications
  • Customer service and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage with diverse customers in a professional, respectful, and inclusive manner.
  • Basic knowledge of banking products and services, with the ability to learn account types, lending options, and digital banking tools quickly.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy in handling cash and transactions, and strong organizational skills.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills, including clear verbal and written communication and active listening.
  • Sales and consultative skills, including identifying customer needs and confidently presenting suitable financial solutions.
  • Comfort with technology and banking software, including point-of-sale systems, customer relationship tools, and digital platforms.
  • Ability to work on-site full-time, adapt to changing priorities, and collaborate with branch team members.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Prior experience in retail banking, financial services, or a customer-facing role is preferred but not required.
  • Commitment to ethical conduct, confidentiality, and compliance with banking regulations and internal policies.
