Summary

This opportunity is intended for current Lambs Farm Direct Support Professionals seeking growth within the Residential Life team.

We’re looking for an experienced DSP to step into the role of Direct Support Professional (DSP) Mentor
, serving in a dual capacity: continuing to provide high-quality direct support to participants while mentoring and guiding newly hired DSPs.

This position strengthens employee retention, reinforces service excellence, and supports a positive onboarding experience for new staff. The DSP Mentor models professionalism, person-centered care, and Lambs Farm values while maintaining participant dignity, independence, and safety in residential and community settings.

The Role
  • Provide direct support to participants with activities of daily living, including personal care, meal preparation, and household responsibilities.
  • Implement individualized service plans and behavioral supports in accordance with established protocols.
  • Assist participants with community activities, appointments, recreational programs, and vocational opportunities.
  • Administer medications in accordance with physician orders and organizational policies while maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Monitor participant health, behaviors, and progress, ensuring timely and accurate electronic documentation.
  • Maintain safe, clean, and regulatory-compliant living environments.
  • Provide structured onboarding support to newly hired DSPs during initial training shifts.
  • Model professionalism, accountability, ethical conduct, and person-centered care practices at all times.
  • Guide and coach new DSPs in understanding participant needs, implementing service plans, and building positive working relationships.
  • Offer constructive feedback and communicate observations to the Residential Supervisor to support successful onboarding outcomes.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, in-services, and required trainings.
  • Demonstrate consistent alignment with Lambs Farm’s policies, procedures, and mission.
Qualifications
  • Current Lambs Farm Direct Support Professional in good standing required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Successful completion of the Comprehensive Adult Student Assessment Systems (CASAS) test.
  • Successful completion of the RISE program.
  • Demonstrated strong performance in the DSP role with a record of reliability, professionalism, and quality documentation.
  • Experience modeling best practices and supporting peers preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with participant mobility and personal care needs.
  • Valid driver’s license preferred for community-based activities and appointments.
  • Proficiency in speaking, writing, and understanding English.
  • Proficiency in electronic documentation systems, email communication, and organizational software platforms.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, emotional maturity, and commitment to Lambs Farm’s values of dignity, empowerment, and inclusion.
