Systems Engineer, Data Engineering
Description:
This role leads the overall technology design for supply chain planning systems. The architect ensures that demand planning, supply planning, and scheduling tools work smoothly with SAP and other legacy systems across multiple business units.
- Create the strategy for how Abbott’s planning systems should look in the future (tools, integrations, data, templates).
- Assess current systems and recommend improvements or new platforms (e.g., Kinaxis, OMP, SAP IBP).
- Design the end‑to‑end architecture for planning tools and how they connect to SAP and other systems.
- Set standards and governance so all divisions follow consistent architecture and security practices.
- Lead design reviews and approve major technical decisions.
- Define data and integration models, including master data, APIs, middleware, and data flows.
- Work with IT teams to ensure data quality, analytics enablement, and smooth system orchestration.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise architecture and supply chain systems.
- Deep expertise in SAP ERP (S/4
HANA preferred) and integration architecture. - Strong experience with planning tools (Kinaxis, OMP, SAP IBP, Blue Yonder).
- Proven experience designing architectures in complex, multi-system environments.
- Strong knowledge of life sciences supply chain and GxP requirements.
- Excellent leadership, influence, and decision‑making skills.
Contract position based out of Waukegan, IL.
Pay And BenefitsPay range: $90.00 - $110.00/hr.
