Job Description
Midwest Ground covers is seeking a full‑time IT Helpdesk Specialist to join our team at our St. Charles headquarters. This position is ideal for a tech‑savvy individual with strong problem‑solving skills and a customer‑oriented mindset. The role will primarily focus on providing technical support to our employees.
The IT Helpdesk Specialist is responsible for resolving a variety of technical issues, including hardware and software troubleshooting, network connectivity, and user account management. A successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical issues in clear and understandable terms.
This position requires a strong ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work independently. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner, adaptable, and enjoy working in a fast‑paced environment. Bilingual - English/Spanish speaker preferred.
Functions/Corresponding Tasks Network Support Duties- Troubleshoot network problems and resolve
- Install existing software from network to PC's
- Install new software to appropriate PC's
- Serve as liaison between users and software support
- Help maintain physical PC's, servers, printers, laptops, etc.
- Install new hardware purchased by the Company
- Assist in maintaining network hardware/servers
- Move hardware as needed
- Install any needed hardware to existing equipment (expansion, upgrades, etc.)
- Company phone systems - be familiar with systems and act as technical support
- Work with phone companies to maintain voice and data lines as needed.
- Support user via current request system
- Support remote users
-VPN users - Answer questions and solve problems that users have regarding the various systems we have in place.
- Support user training classes
- Create the necessary documentation relating to user training and support
- Document and maintain company assets in Helpdesk software
- Verbal Communications – clear, concise, timely, professional
- Proficient in English and Spanish
- Computer Skills – must be strong – hardware, software, network
- Programming Skills – needs to know Power Shell, Access, Excel, Batch
- Experience with ERPs. Microsoft Business Central experience a plus
- Organizational – strong skills needed as prioritization of tasks are very important.
- Team Player – it is necessary to be involved with multiple departments and personnel.
- Must deal with both internal and external customers.
- Attitude – must be positive, upbeat and professional.
- Business is seasonal and workloads will be heavy ‘in season’.
- Patience – is needed in dealing with employees with a wide variety of skill levels and abilities.
- Associate’s degree in Information Technology or similar field
- 2+ years in a similar environment
- Strong computer/IT training is a must, with ongoing emphasis on education.
