Senior Cassandra Consultant / Data Stax DBA – No
SQL, 100% Onsite in Waukegan, IL
We are looking for a Senior Cassandra Consultant / Data Stax DBA with strong Database Administration experience to handle complex multi-cluster No
SQL Database environments. This is a 1-year contract with the possibility of an extension. This position is 100% onsite in Waukegan, IL, 5 days a week.
SQL Responsibilities:
- Install, configure and upgrade Data Stax Cassandra DBMS on multiple environments.
- Design and implement Cassandra data models, schemas, and resource plans.
- Monitor and maintain the performance, health, and security of Cassandra clusters.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks, data inconsistencies, and software bugs.
- Implement backup and recovery strategies, ensuring data integrity and minimizing downtime.
- Automate administrative tasks by using Ansible/other scripts for monitoring, maintenance, and deployment.
- Creating new and modifying existing Ansible playbooks.
- Stay updated with Data Stax and Cassandra releases, new features, security patches, and industry best practices.
SQL
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 9+ years of experience in handling No
SQL database. - Strong knowledge of the Data Stax Enterprise (DSE) platform, Cassandra architecture, and No
SQL concepts. - Proficient in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Data Stax Enterprise (DSE) Cassandra clusters.
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix systems and Shell scripting.
- Data Stax architecture and hands-on administration experience.
- The Data Stax administrator role involves setting up the cluster, optimization of the read and write data, copying data from other file systems.
- Maintenance of Data Stax No
SQL Database. - Experience with Backup and restore/Recover strategies.
- Strong SQL experience.
- Certification of Data Stax would be an added advantage.
