Maintenance Worker (PRN)

Join our team as a maintenance worker at Lake Behavioral Hospital. Your work will support the daily operations of a 161-bed acute care facility in Waukegan, IL.

As a Maintenance Worker (PRN), you will perform a variety of tasks including painting, plumbing, electrical work, and inspections of physical plant equipment. You will also conduct preventive maintenance and perform various janitorial duties with minimal supervision.

• Perform all tasks such as painting, plumbing, electrical, preventive maintenance, and tests and inspections of the hospital.
• Clean and change air filters, kitchen grease traps and stove hood filters.
• Dispose of infectious/contaminated waste from the hospital.
• Maintain hospital grounds in a neat and attractive appearance.
• Maintain all light fixtures in good working condition and change light bulbs as needed.
• Perform preventive maintenance electrical test as well as the removal, installation, and repair of all mechanical/electrical equipment.
• Comply with established measures for infection control, OSHA regulations, and safety/risk management plans policies and procedures.

• Education:
  
  High school graduate or equivalent preferred; two years of technical or trade school preferred.
• Experience:
  
  Must have experience in operating a variety of hand/power tools and equipment ensuring proper safety precautions and experience in building maintenance and basic mechanical engineering.
• Licensure:
  Valid driver's license.
• Additional Requirements:
  
  Must have complete knowledge of physical plant within two weeks of hire.

This is a PRN role and the expected compensation is $25.00 hourly. Consideration will be provided to experience and skill level.
