Inventory Kitting

Inventory Kitting Wage: $16.00/hour

8:00am-4:30pm

QPS Employment Group is hiring for an Inventory Kitting role for a company in Waukegan, IL. This is a potential to hire opportunity on 1st shift.

• Assist in the assembly of kits based on production or customer orders
• Ensure that the correct components are gathered and packaged according to specifications
• Monitor the accuracy of kit components and report discrepancies
• Conduct regular cycle counts and reconciliation processes to maintain inventory accuracy
• Implement quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of kits
• Perform inspections to verify that kits meet established standards and specifications
• Review kitting and stock replenishment processes to identify opportunities for improvement
• Ensure the proper use and maintenance of kitting equipment and tools
• Collaborate with other departments, such as production, purchasing, and shipping, to coordinate kitting activities and meet production or fulfillment schedules
• Identify training needs and participate in skill development and cross-training
• Prepare and analyze regular reports on kitting performance, inventory levels, and accuracy
• Address operational challenges and troubleshoot issues related to kitting promptly and efficiently

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is a plus
• Proven experience in inventory kitting, with at least 1 year of relevant experience
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Knowledge of kitting best practices and familiarity with inventory management systems or warehouse management systems (WMS)
• Proficiency in using kitting tools and equipment, such as scales, label printers, and barcode scanners
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
• Understanding of safety regulations and the ability to promote a culture of safety among the kitting team
• Physical ability to walk, stand, push, pull, reach, bend, stoop, climb, and carry throughout the workday
• Forklift certified, familiar with a scrubber machine (floor cleaner that you drive) and light custodial work i.e. garbage clean up, bathroom and cafeteria clean up
