Production Associate
This role involves working as a Manufacturing Operator on a 1st shift schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. You will rotate and train across multiple departments, including Assembly, Lapping, Conveyance, and Shipping/Receiving, to support the production of precision components such as pumps and valves. You will learn how work flows across departments, develop strong mechanical and assembly skills, and contribute to a clean, climate-controlled, and collaborative manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Train and work in four primary areas:
Assembly, Lapping, Conveyance, and Shipping/Receiving. - Perform mechanical assembly on various products, including pumps and valves such as cartridge, in-line, and check valves.
- Work in multiple assembly areas, ranging from basic assembly to electrical assembly and more sophisticated assembly operations.
- Follow drawings and diagrams (non-blueprint format) to correctly assemble parts and components.
- Handle and assemble small parts and metal pieces with precision and attention to detail.
- Operate lapping machines to smooth product surfaces to specified tolerances and quality standards.
- Perform order picking in the Conveyance department by pushing carts and selecting parts for delivery to assembly areas.
- Support warehouse operations, including shipping and receiving tasks, as needed.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during assembly and related operations.
- Conduct quality checks on products, including first piece, in-process, and final assembly inspections and testing.
- Lift and move materials and components weighing up to 25 pounds throughout the shift.
- Follow written instructions and step-by-step directions for assembly and testing procedures.
- Participate in and successfully complete required tests, including basic math, English, and dexterity evaluations, as part of the selection process.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in alignment with facility standards.
- Collaborate with team members and support a positive, cooperative, and continuous improvement–oriented work culture.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waukegan, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
