UMMA Center Marketing & Content Manager – Illinois (4 days onsite, 1 remote)
UMMA Center is a nonprofit organization serving Lake County communities through food access, education, housing support, and career development programs. As we build our Community Empowerment Center, we are expanding our reach and looking for a marketing professional who can help more people understand, access, and support our work.
UMMA Center is hiring its first Marketing & Content Manager to build and execute our marketing presence across digital and real‑world channels. This is a hands‑on role focused on content creation, social media strategy, and campaign execution that increases awareness, engagement, and community participation.

Key Responsibilities- Create photo, video, written, and graphic content directly from programs and community activity
- Manage and execute a consistent social media content calendar
- Run campaigns that drive participation, engagement, and donor support
- Write newsletters and supporter communications
- Manage paid promotions and track performance metrics
- Use modern marketing tools and AI workflows to improve efficiency
- Help shape UMMA’s brand voice and growth strategy
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field
- Experience in non‑profit organizations or community‑focused roles is a plus
- 3–5 years of marketing, content creation, or digital marketing experience
- Strong writing and storytelling ability
- Social media fluency across major platforms
- Experience with Canva, Adobe, and/or similar tools
- Comfort filming, designing, and publishing content independently
- Self‑starter who can build systems and take ownership
- Interest in analytics and modern marketing tools
- Hybrid schedule: 4 days onsite, 1 remote
