Registered Nurse (4 West) - PRN

Registered Nurses are responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized patient care delivery. The Registered Nurse provides clinical leadership to the patient care team for the assigned shift.

Hours:

PRN, varies as needed, at least two 12-hour shifts per month.

• Analyzes assessment data to determine actual or potential diagnosis, problems, and issues.
• Assesses patients' conditions and care delivery through direct observation, rounding, and data input from other team members.
• Collects pertinent data and information relative to the patient's health or the situation and recognizes normal and abnormal findings when gathering data.
• Coordinates bed and patient care assignments during shift and in preparation for the next shift to ensure consistency in care delivery.
• Documents and reports care delivered to physicians and other team members as needed.
• Enhances professional growth through classes related to communication, teaching, stress management, conflict resolution, and team building annually, in addition to required unit/patient specific education.
• Evaluates progress toward attainment of goals and outcomes, reporting data and outcomes to physicians and/or other disciplines as appropriate.
• Implements care and supervises care delivered by other team members in alignment with the plan of care and approved safety and infection control standards.
• In collaboration with the Leader/Director, actively pursues required knowledge and skills through orientation activities, unit-based in-service programs, reading current literature, and seeking new clinical learning opportunities.
• Identifies expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or situation.
• Develops a plan that prescribes strategies to attain expected, measurable outcomes.
• Plans and evaluates care in collaboration with appropriate disciplines for assigned patients.
• Provides leadership and supervision to the health care team during the assigned shift.
• Provides performance feedback to team members and inputs observations to Manager/Director regarding appraisals.
• Establishes effective working relationships with peers, physicians, and other members of the health care team; identifies and confers with appropriate resources regarding patient care decisions.
• Serves as a strong, positive role model for other health care team members.
• Employs teaching strategies to promote health and a safe environment.

• Active RN in the State of Illinois (Licensed by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation).
• ADN required.
• ACLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• BLS or CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
• Completion of Sarah Bush Lincoln orientation and relevant unit-based in-service programs.

Estimated Compensation Range: $39.12 – $60.64 per hour, pay based on experience.
