School Registered Nurse (RN) in Waukegan, IL

Qualifications and

Experience:

• Active Illinois Professional Educator’s License with a Certified School Nurse (CSN) endorsement
• Registered Nurse (RN) status with demonstrated experience in a school or pediatric setting
• Familiarity with best practices in school nursing and compliance with state/local health regulations
• Strong communication and documentation skills for interfacing with students, staff, and families
• Ability to assess and respond proactively to a variety of student health concerns

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to students with acute or chronic health conditions
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with prescribed protocols
• Develop, implement, and update individualized health plans
• Act as a liaison between families, healthcare providers, and educational staff regarding student needs
• Conduct health screenings and immunization reviews, maintaining accurate records
• Lead health education initiatives and promote wellness throughout the school community
• Respond quickly and effectively to medical emergencies
• Ensure confidentiality and compliance with all relevant privacy laws
