Lab Technician III

The Bioanalytical group is seeking an experienced Lab Technician III / Bioanalytical Scientist to perform routine and non-routine analytical testing and formulation work in a GLP laboratory environment. This role focuses on bioanalytical and physical characterization of samples using techniques such as HPLC and spectroscopy, while generating reliable data to support project teams. The position is fully on-site, with the majority of time spent performing hands-on laboratory activities and the remainder dedicated to data documentation and collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and non-routine bioanalytical and physical testing, generating reliable and consistent results to support projects of varying complexity.
  • Work closely with project leads and technical team members to execute experimental plans and meet project objectives.
  • Conduct analyses using techniques such as HPLC and other bioanalytical methods, ensuring accurate data collection and interpretation.
  • Troubleshoot experiments and laboratory instrumentation to resolve issues and maintain data quality.
  • Carry out general laboratory maintenance and upkeep, including maintaining equipment, supplies, and a clean work area.
  • Perform routine testing and accurately document all experiments and results in electronic laboratory notebooks (eLN).
  • Learn, understand, and apply new experimental techniques and methods as needed for project work.
  • Follow and comply with all applicable standard operating procedures (SOPs), cGMP guidelines, GLP practices, and safety policies.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment in accordance with internal procedures and regulatory expectations.
  • Collaborate and interface with multiple individuals from the technical team while working under the direction of a supervisor.
  • Support formulation work and visual evaluations, such as assessing color, clarity, and physical properties of samples, as required by project needs.

Essential Skills

  • Strong general science, with Chemistry or Biology preferred.
  • Proficiency in general laboratory skills, including pipetting, weighing, and solution preparation.
  • Hands-on experience with bioanalytical methods in a laboratory setting.
  • Practical experience with HPLC techniques and instrumentation.
  • Ability to use Empower or similar chromatography data systems for HPLC data acquisition and analysis.
  • Foundational knowledge in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge sufficient to independently carry out assigned laboratory functions.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry, documentation, and instrument-related software.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, Molecular Biology, or a closely related scientific field.
  • Experience with in a pharmaceutical or bioanalytical laboratory environment.
  • Familiarity or experience with particle sizing and particle testing techniques.
  • Exposure to force testing equipment and related analytical methods.
  • Experience with UV, IR, and fluorescence spectroscopy for sample characterization.
  • Understanding of basic practices for sampling, weighing, and pH measurement.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret bioanalytical data and communicate findings to project teams.
  • Comfort working in a GLP environment and following cGMP-related procedures.
  • Willingness to learn new techniques and adapt to evolving project requirements.

Work Environment

This position is 100% on-site in a GLP laboratory environment, with approximately 80% of time dedicated to hands-on lab activities and 20% to stationary tasks such as data analysis, documentation, and team collaboration. The role involves working directly with a supervisor while interfacing with multiple members of the technical team in a group-oriented setting. Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day.
