As a cook for the team member dining room, you are responsible for executing daily prep and service with precision and consistency in a deli-focused environment, under the guidance of the Executive Chef and the Sous Chefs. Expertise in deli-related cooking, including slicing meats, preparing sandwiches, and crafting deli salads, is essential. A solid understanding of food safety practices and proper handling of ingredients is crucial to ensure the highest quality service.
Responsibilities include participating in line checks, maintaining cleanliness and organization in all kitchen areas, and ensuring prep meets the Chef’s standards for offerings. Cooks are also expected to follow all health and safety regulations, support daily sanitation efforts, and assist in educating front-of-house staff on daily specials. A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to follow direction are key to success in this role.
YOU Will Need
- 1-2 years of previous cooking experience is preferred
- Bi-lingual is a plus
- Knowledge of health and sanitation standards
- Proper cooking techniques and knife skills
- Food Knowledge
- Lift up to 25 - 30 lbs
- Stand for long periods
- Navigate crowded spaces
- Flexibility in bending and reaching
- Adaptability to casino conditions, including:
- Bright lights
- Noise
- Able to obtain/maintain necessary licenses and/or certifications as required by local gaming regulations.
- Able to obtain/maintain Food Handlers Serv Safe certifications as required by the Lake County Health Department regulations.
