Position Overview
The Real Estate Tax Information and Collections Specialist is responsible for customer service and cashiering within Lake County’s property tax system. Duties include handling transactions, answering taxpayer inquiries, resolving issues, analyzing data, preparing reports, and performing cashiering duties on a rotating basis.
Responsibilities- Customer service by phone and in-person
- Problem solving and resolving customer account discrepancies
- Multi‑tasking across administrative tasks
- Preparing reports and summarizing statistical data
- Cashiering duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 years related experience in property tax administration or banking
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel
- Cash handling experience preferred
- Spanish language proficiency preferred
Work involves sitting most of the day with occasional standing while cashiering. Requires typing and using fingers and palms to apply pressure. Ability to express ideas orally and in writing.
