The Business Development Manager drives revenue growth by pursuing new business opportunities and closing deals. This role is responsible for searching for prospective customers, following‑up on leads, and increasing revenue at new and existing customers. This top performing professional develops business vertically and horizontally to leverage the company’s vertical integration and unique capabilities.

All duties as assigned and the following specific activities:
- Drives new and significant revenue growth by creating strategic and tactical plans to uncover and close new business opportunities
- Sells through network of own contacts and develops new contacts.
- Develops and maintains a high level of knowledge of vocabulary, package design, and materials; achieve status as a knowledgeable resource and trusted partner (topics include but not limited to paperboard printing process, secondary packaging, thermoforming, blending and filling capabilities).
- Understands strategic solutions and market differentiators for the business
- Listens to customer needs so as to provide recommendations to leverage total vertical integration to solve customer problems, add value, and helps to close opportunities.
- Creates and delivers compelling, customized presentations including new business, address core business issues, and solutions of existing and potential clients.
- Serves as a key point of contact with customers, develops and maintains strong relationships with customers; infiltrates influencing decision makers at the highest level.
- Leverages incumbent business partnership, networking and combined capabilities to achieve new business.
- Penetrates marketing, brand owners and packaging engineering teams to become go‑to solutions provider and participates early in the design process for new projects.
- Reviews the competitive environment and develops appropriate strategies and tactics which maximize revenue and profit generation.
- Login into CRM system daily. Manages and records all sales calls, opportunities, and activities within CRM system. Keeps CRM updated with the current customer contact information and details.
- Reports market, competitor, and customer activities.
- Travels to new prospects, participates in product demonstrations, and meets with customers to grow relationships and builds trust.
- Generates trip/visit reports after each key visit to summarize key points
- Stays current on industry trends affecting existing and prospected clients in order to provide strategic insight to their business.
- Collaborates with internals team to coordinates new packaging ideas, foster innovation, and present solutions to existing and potential customers
- Cultivates and manages a healthy pipeline to meet aggressive sales quotas.
