About the Role

Proofpoint, Inc. is seeking a self‑starting highly motivated sales professional based in Illinois to join our Named Accounts organization. The role focuses on helping large enterprise organizations protect their most sensitive data by selling Proofpoint’s comprehensive security portfolio.

Location

The account manager will target accounts in Indiana and must reside in Illinois or its surrounding area. The position is based in Illinois.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish strong executive‑level relationships and advanced solution selling capabilities.
  • Conduct sales presentations, coordinate multiple resources within an account, and consistently close business for Proofpoint.
  • Penetrate new accounts while expanding presence with existing customers by introducing additional security solutions.
  • Partner with the Channel organization to secure new market share.
  • Collaborate with Sales/Systems Engineering to prepare account strategies, deliver product demos, and proof‑of‑concept programs.
  • Achieve and exceed quarterly and annual sales quotas.
Required Qualifications
  • At least 3 years of experience in a field sales role selling to large enterprise organizations.
  • Proven, demonstrable track record of exceeding sales goals.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self‑starter who can work independently or in a team environment.
  • Organized, detail‑ and process‑oriented.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and use good judgment in resolving difficult issues.
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM tools (strongly preferred).
  • BA/BS or equivalent preferred.
