Territory: Carbondale – candidates are considered if they live within 40 miles of territory boundaries and have access to a major airport. Territory boundaries include Cape Girardeau, Carbondale, Mt. Vernon, Belleville.
Summary: We are seeking a dynamic, results‑driven sales professional with a proven track record to grow with Lundbeck. The ideal candidate will be a specialty product expert with a deep understanding of market complexities, capable of promoting our psychiatry portfolio to stakeholders in primary care and neurology settings.
Essential Functions- Business Planning & Account Leadership – use digital tools and data‑based insights to create opportunities, develop strategy & tactics, allocate resources, and monitor progress to maximize sales performance.
- Sales – deliver clear and compelling messages to customers, probe needs, overcome objections, and close every call with a commitment to action that drives behavior change.
- Customer Development – build and maintain productive relationships based on customer needs and organizational goals, incorporating total office account management where applicable.
- Local Market & Therapeutic Area Expertise – gather and validate key market trends, map account linkages, and apply therapeutic knowledge to uncover and prioritize opportunities.
- Reimbursement – stay informed on reimbursement dynamics and address payer access issues (IDNs, Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial) using Lundbeck resources.
- Pharmaceutical Environment & Compliance – apply knowledge of pharmaceutical and regulatory environments, adhere to Lundbeck policies and FDA regulations regarding product promotion.
- Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Sciences from an accredited institution.
- 2–5 years of sales experience in pharmaceuticals, biopharmaceuticals, biologics, medical devices, or related healthcare sales.
- High performance on disease and product training exams, including annual product knowledge certification.
- Self‑starter with strong work ethic, tenacity, and outstanding communication skills.
- Adaptability – embrace change and collaborate in a fast‑paced team environment.
- Problem‑solving – proven analytical skills to identify solutions and overcome obstacles.
- Data analysis – strong computer and technical skills for data analysis to develop short‑ and long‑term goals aligned with business objectives.
- Candidate must live within 40 miles of the territory boundaries.
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record; driving is essential.
- Meet and comply with industry‑standard credentialing requirements of healthcare providers and customer facilities.
- Ability to lift, bend, push, pull, and move items up to 25 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Recent documented success selling to general practitioners (GPs) and primary care centers.
- Experience promoting and detailing CNS/neuroscience products.
- Prior experience working with alliance partners (e.g., co‑promotions).
- Willingness/ability to travel 30%–40% domestically to meet/interact with customers and attend 4–8 conferences/meetings within the United States.
- Salary range: $108,000 to $125,000, with eligibility for a sales incentive target of $39,000.
