Overview

PositionFounders 3 - F3 Airport is looking to add Maintenance Technicians to our F3 Airport team, supporting the Waukegan National Airport. If you are looking for a growing company that invests in its employees, then Founders 3 is the place for you.
As a member of our Maintenance team, you will manage the upkeep of the property and be responsible for a variety of skilled and unskilled maintenance work on airport buildings, grounds and airfield. You will play a proactive role for our client. We ask our maintenance team to have a practical mind and keen attention to details as they develop and execute preventative maintenance plans.
This is a full-time paid position. (40 hrs/week) Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Starting pay is $20.00 per hour but may vary based on the experience you bring to the position.
Responsibilities- Performs general maintenance work on airport buildings and grounds.
- Operates a variety of heavy equipment including rotary broom/blower trucks, snowplows, dump trucks, forklifts, back-hoes and tractors mounted with batwing mower decks ranging from 10’ to 15’ long.
- Provides general building and facility repairs to include roofing, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, fencing, gates, pavement and other basic facility repairs.
- Conducts routine electrical repairs such as changing light bulbs, wiring, fixture installation, etc.
- Performs FAA airfield inspections.
- Ensures the vehicle fleet is kept clean at all times
- Ensures the cleanliness of shared spaces including the staff breakrooms, maintenance shops, and bathrooms.
- A minimum of three years of facility maintenance and/or commercial maintenance experience.
- A valid Illinois Driver's License in good standing.
- HS Diploma or equivalent.
- Comfort with working on an active airfield and communicating with FAA Air Traffic Control Tower (in-house training provided).
- Must be an organized individual capable of putting tools & parts back where they belong
- Must be available to work rotating weekends, overtime, possibly some holidays and be on-call as needed - specifically during the snow season November 1st through April 1st
- Experience with the use of computer/tablet.
- Must be mechanically inclined
- Skilled in the use of hand and power tools and test equipment; and be able to diagnose equipment problems, make repairs, test equipment, and properly maintain records.
- Must be a team player, have strong work ethic, positive attitude, always be situational aware, and have the desire to succeed while representing our firm with the best possible service to our clients.
- Be in good physical condition and strength to perform duties essential to perform job requirements
