Service Technician

Shop Service Technician – Waukegan, IL

We are seeking a full‑time Shop Service Technician for our Waukegan, IL branch. This is a union position with Local 701. Pay range is $25.65 – $42.75 per hour, based on experience, with additional compensation for benefits and potential bonuses.

• Perform service tasks as assigned by the service manager or shop superintendent.
• Stay current on changes in models of equipment sold and serviced.
• Report each service call or repair job at shift end, including customer name, make, model, serial number, hours worked, travel time, details of work, problems encountered, parts, equipment, and supplies used.
• Report warranty situations in detail.
• Maintain a clean and orderly shop area.
• Notify the service manager of any additional work needed on a unit.
• Inform the manager if shop equipment or vehicle is not serviceable or poses a safety hazard.
• Return special tools to their proper location in clean condition.
• Review parts and service bulletins relevant to equipment being repaired.
• Conduct oneself professionally in the presence of customers.
• Participate in training and schooling opportunities to improve technical competence.
• Perform other duties as directed by the service manager.
• Work safely at all times.

• Capable of lifting 90 lbs, 75% of the time.
• Knowledge of engine internal work and mechanical equipment relevant to the equipment assigned.
• Excellent customer service, problem‑solving, and safety skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive a pickup truck and trailer.
• Supply personal tools for repair work.
