Robert Half is partnering with a growing construction company in the Waukesha County area to identify an experienced Senior Accountant for a key role on their corporate accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented accounting professional who combines strong technical accounting skills with a proactive, improvement-focused mindset.

The ideal candidate will bring a blend of public accounting foundation and 3+ years of industry experience, along with an interest in change management, process improvement, and long-term growth within a private equity-backed organization. This role is well suited for someone who enjoys partnering with operations, strengthening accounting processes, and helping support a business through continued expansion.

Key Responsibilities

+ Partner with operational teams to review contract activity and apply appropriate revenue recognition treatment in accordance with ASC 606

+ Prepare and post monthly journal entries and complete reconciliations for key balance sheet and income statement accounts

+ Oversee fixed asset accounting, including asset setup, depreciation, retirements, and supporting schedules

+ Manage lease accounting activities under ASC 842 and identify opportunities to enhance processes, controls, and supporting systems

+ Coordinate documentation and schedules for external audits, tax filings, regulatory reviews, and other compliance-related requests

+ Assist in developing and maintaining accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls

+ Support preparation and review of financial statements, management reporting, budgets, and forecasts

+ Monitor cash activity and assist with cash flow forecasting

+ Analyze monthly financial results against budget and forecast, and communicate key variances and trends to leadership

+ Participate in special projects and recommend process improvements that drive efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
