Staff Accountant - Construction

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a growing construction organization. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career accounting professional looking to build experience in accounting, financial operations, and project-based accounting within the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, including recurring and accrual entries.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
• Process cash applications and maintain accurate accounts receivable records.
• Assist with collections and follow up on outstanding customer balances.
• Prepare monthly construction draw applications.
• Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation.
• Assist with audits and special accounting projects.
• Partner with project managers and operations teams to ensure accurate job costing and billing.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• 0-3 years of accounting experience, including internships or relevant coursework.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Interest in construction accounting and project-based financial management.
