Position Summary:

Join Ventura Foods as an Accounting Coordinator, where you will manage accounts receivable activities, customer deductions, collections, reconciliations, and payment resolution processes. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys problem-solving, working directly with customers, and driving accurate financial results.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Institute and maintain a deduction log that will formally track all customer deductions and the status of each deduction.
• Prepare monthly report to explain deduction findings.
• Investigate customer deductions, payment discrepancies, and unapplied cash items to ensure accurate account reconciliation.
• Provide current status of customer accounts, to include status of open credit memos, aging debit memos and unresolved Unapplied Cash.
• Provide analytical reports as requested.
• Under the direction of the Customer Accounting Lead, upon authorized approval, enter A/P check requests via AS400 or TPMS according to established procedures.
• Under the direction of the Customer Accounting Supervisor, use written and telephone contact with customers to request backup, dispute invalid deductions as well as receive payment information on invalid short pays.
• Within TPMS, review assigned billback entries in WIP, RFA, Approved and Payment Request status ensuring all items reach Paid status.
• Transfer CCD sales in an accurate and timely manner by resolving integrity report errors and creating manual entries as needed.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent experience;
Associates degree in a Business related field is preferred. 2+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Collections, Accounting, Billing, or Customer Financial Services preferred.

Knowledge and

Skills:

Strong mathematical skills and working knowledge of relevant software and mainframe capabilities. Ability to work under minimal supervision and as part of a team. In-depth knowledge of standard accounts receivable procedures. Diplomatic skills needed to solve customer generated problems. Ability to deal with various types of customers from mass merchandisers to small, local operations.
