As a Technical Procurement Specialist, you will spend your days identifying and evaluating suppliers for technical products and services, negotiating terms, and fostering productive vendor relationships to secure optimal quality, pricing, and availability. You will be responsible for monitoring supplier performance and expenditures, addressing any quality or delivery concerns, and maintaining precise procurement documentation. The position requires you to remain informed of market trends and supplier capabilities, ensuring that Liberty Systems maintains a competitive edge.
You will work closely with colleagues in engineering, operations, service, and sales to understand technical needs and support organizational goals. The role involves preparing and managing RFQs, reviewing proposals, issuing purchase orders, and analyzing procurement data to inform decisions.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain management, business, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in procurement
- Experience with VMI and reporting using key performance indicators
- Strong Microsoft Excel knowledge and database experience
- Strong analytical skills and knowledge of inventory management principles
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain accurate records
- Proactive communication and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to develop and implement buying policies and procedures
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to analyze large, complex data sets and generate meaningful insights
- Adaptability and flexibility to changing business needs
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (a plus)
