Johnson Service Group is seeking a skilled and experienced Procurement Specialist / Purchasing Buyer for a 6-month contract position in the Waukesha, WI area.

Selected candidates MUST be a US Person / Citizen and MUST provide an available start date, DOB (MM/DD), and the last 4 digits of SSN in order to have their resume submitted to the client company.

This position requires a criminal background check as well as a drug screen.

Possibility of Extension / Direct Hire:
Will review close to 6-month mark, extend based on business need

Description:

We are looking for a tactical purchasing specialist / buyer familiar with purchasing experience in Metal Fabrication, Machined Parts, Cable and Wire, or similar.

What You'll Do:

• Functions:
• Review purchase requisitions and requests to determine appropriate procurement methods.
• Identify potential suppliers and solicit bids or quotations for goods and services.
• Evaluate supplier proposals and negotiate terms and pricing to achieve the best value for the organization.
• Generate purchase orders and contracts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Will work on receiving dock / production floor to resolve issues, safety vest and safety glasses will be provided- the site has toe caps, but ideally you will have your own steel toe shoes.
• Monitor and track order status, expediting deliveries as needed to meet project timelines.
• Resolve issues and discrepancies with suppliers regarding pricing, quality, and delivery.
• Maintain supplier relationships and conduct supplier performance evaluations.

Required Qualifications:

• Needs at least a High school diploma / GED
• HIGH SCHOOL / GED: 5 - 7 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or a related role.
• BACHELOR'S DEGREE: 3 - 5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or a related role.
• Knowledge of procurement processes and best practices.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Experience with Purchase Orders
• Client communication skills / Experience contacting suppliers on a regular basis
• MRP experience
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.

Preferred

Skills:

• Bachelor's degree OR Associates in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• Experience with procurement software or enterprise resource planning (SAP / ERP) systems.
• Purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment (Metal Fabrication, Machined Parts, Cable and Wire, or similar).
• Familiarity with contract management principles.
• Knowledge of supply chain logistics and inventory management.
• Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CSCP, CPSM).
