Project Manager - Steel Erection

Seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead complex structural steel projects from kickoff through completion. This role is built for someone who understands the realities of steel erection, thrives in the field and office, and can keep schedules, budgets, and crews aligned on demanding projects.

Role Responsibilities

• Manage steel erection projects from pre-construction through closeout
• Coordinate field operations, erection sequencing, and site logistics
• Oversee project schedules, budgets, and cost controls to protect margins
• Serve as the primary point of contact between field crews, subcontractors, fabricators, and general contractors
• Review drawings, erection plans, and scope details to ensure constructability
• Track change orders, RFIs, and project documentation
• Monitor safety compliance and jobsite performance
• Forecast manpower needs and support crew planning
• Identify risks early and drive solutions to keep projects on track

Required Background and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required (Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field)
• Proven Project Management experience within steel erection or structural steel construction
• Strong understanding of field operations, crane planning, and erection sequencing
• Experience managing schedules, budgets, and project cost reporting
• Ability to read and interpret structural and erection drawings
• Experience working directly with general contractors and field leadership
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable spending time in the field while maintaining project controls
• Willingness to travel as project demands require (not much travel required)
