Library Associate - Public Services
Part-time, 20 hours per week
The Waukesha Public Library is seeking an outgoing and tech savvy part-time Library Associate to enrich the lives of patrons by providing exemplary customer service in the Public Services Department. The Library is looking for a candidate who works well with all kinds of people and understands the transformative value that a library brings to its community. The Library's guide our work and our commitment to serve everyone.
THE POSITION:
We are looking for a dedicated employee with a welcoming personality to work at our busy Information Desk, greeting patrons, registering new card holders, checking in and out library materials, answering phones, processing payments, and maintaining circulation records.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and major coursework in library sciences, education, graphic design, marketing, public relations, or other related field and at least 2 years of library experience; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the following knowledge, ability and skills:
- Proficiency in the use of computers, including Microsoft Word and Excel and Polaris software.
- General knowledge of and ability to use office equipment.
- Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, multitasking and prioritizing workload.
- Skills in organization and attention to detail as well as analytical and problem solving.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, coworkers and the public.
The
2026 salary range is $24.5799.
Regular schedule includes weekdays, evenings, and weekend hours.
