We are actively seeing a Montessori Upper Elementary trained teacher (AMS or AMI) to fill a position left vacant by an internal transfer. We are prepared to make a competitive offer as soon as a qualified candidate is identified.

Join our AMS fully accredited, 380 student, toddler-8th grade Montessori school in beautiful Waukesha, Wisconsin. Montessori School of Waukesha (MSOW) is looking for a dedicated teacher who loves working with children and their families, and collaborating with colleagues. Montessori teacher credentials are very highly preferred though not required if the applicant is currently in a Montessori TEP, or has related teaching experience and a willingness to earn a Montessori credential.

MSOW is currently expanding the facilities on their 9 acre campus to include a brand new gym, library, Middle School environment, and Upper Elementary classrooms.

We support teachers‑in‑training with an in‑house teacher coach as they complete a Montessori teacher training program which can be significantly subsidized by MSOW. The positive, community oriented, Montessori Upper Elementary (9-12 years) lead teacher will guide about 28 students in a fully equipped, mixed age, 1,200 square foot brand new Montessori classroom. A full‑time paraprofessional is assigned to the Upper Elementary classroom community to assist the Lead Teacher throughout the day and afford the teacher substantial prep time.

Founded in 1964, Montessori School of Waukesha is the first and only school in Wisconsin accredited by the American Montessori Society. Our school has one toddler room, five children’s house classrooms, four lower elementary classrooms, three upper elementary classrooms, and a large middle school community with two lead teachers.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree and AMS or AMI credential for children ages 9 to 12 is preferred.
  • Teacher candidates currently in a MACTE accredited training program are also encouraged to apply. We offer generous tuition reimbursement.
  • Candidates who are not already licensed for teaching in Wisconsin, by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, must be willing to initiate the licensing process with our help. MSOW offers 100% reimbursement for the licensing/test fees. You may teach while successfully completing steps toward licensing, within the prescribed three‑year time frame.

Compensation and benefits:
Salary is competitive, based on a salary scale and commensurate with experience and related qualifications. MSOW Pay Scale ranges are highly competitive and based on earned credentials and years of experience. MSOW offers Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, and Short‑Term and Long‑term Disability insurance coverage through the school. MSOW offers a Simple IRA with up to a 3% match. The school provides 80 hours of personal paid time off, and 16 hours of professional development paid time.

Employees enjoy no‑cost to‑employees wrap care for toddlers through 8th graders. Teachers may also choose to teach after school Enrichment Programs during the school year or in the nine‑week Summer Program.

MSOW is a Community Partner school with a local public school district and a majority of our students, 4K and up, participate in a tuition reimbursement program. We believe in employee professional development and have funded degrees, credentials, and certificates up to 80% for many of our teachers. MSOW has historically high lead teacher retention at 95%.
