The Corporate Fabrication Engineer II drives the modernization, standardization, and financial efficiency of sheet metal manufacturing processes across all global production facilities. This role serves as the central technical authority for advanced fabrication, autonomous robotic welding, and automated material handling systems. You will develop corporate technology roadmaps, justify enterprise capital expenditures (Cap Ex), and partner with design engineering to institutionalize automated Design for Manufacturability (DFM) standards using PTC Creo software.

Success in this role is heavily measured by your ability to deliver measurable cost reductions and structural Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) improvements across the manufacturing network.

* Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

**
* ** Cost Reduction Delivery:
** Identify, scope, and execute high-impact manufacturing projects targeting total landed cost reductions, material scrap optimization, and labor efficiency gains.
* ** OEE Improvement Leadership:
** Analyze production metrics to identify equipment bottlenecks, leading root-cause problem-solving initiatives to improve machine availability, performance, and quality rates.
* ** Corporate DFM Governance:
** Partner with corporate design engineering during New Product Introduction (NPI) within PTC Creo to ensure sheet metal designs are structurally optimized for high-speed automated production and minimal material waste.
* ** Cap Ex Justification:
** Formulate robust business cases and ROI calculations for major enterprise capital expenditures, linking technology investments directly to cost savings and capacity expansion.
* ** Global Standardization:
** Establish standard corporate tooling profiles, CNC/robotic programming methodologies, and equipment specifications to streamline plant performance tracking.
* ** Network Capacity & Sourcing:
** Analyze cross-facility equipment capacities to optimize internal production allocation or develop strategic, cost-effective external outsourcing relationships for overflow fabrication needs.

* Minimum Qualifications:

*** Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
* 3 to 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience directly supporting soft-tooled sheet metal fabrication plants with a documented history of driving operational cost savings.
* ** CAD/CAM & Nesting Proficiency**:
Practical experience using CAD and CAM software for product design and costing review.
* ** Core Technical Skills**:
Practical experience deploying lean manufacturing methods to optimize automated fabrication lines, autonomous robotic welding configurations, laser cutting, and press brake sequencing.

* Preferred Qualifications:

* ** CAD/CAM & Nesting Proficiency**:

Experience with
** PTC Creo
** for design review alongside specialized manufacturing suites like
** Amada VPSS
** and
** Salvagnini Stream**.
* ** Advanced Robotic Welding**:
Hands-on programming or deployment experience with autonomous robotic weld cells, specifically utilizing
** AGT Robotics Cortex
** auto-programming software.
* ** Financial Acumen**:
Deep familiarity with manufacturing cost accounting, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) models, and structured OEE calculation methods.
* ** OEM Systems**:
Direct experience implementing or managing automated equipment from major OEMs like Amada, Salvagnini, or Trumpf.
* ** Multi-Site Support**:
Experience managing capital automation or productivity projects across multiple geographic locations in a corporate engineering framework.
