Eaton is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Electrical Engineer to join our Waukesha operations. This critical off-shift role ensures the continuous performance and safety of production equipment within an Engineered to Order (ETO) manufacturing environment. You will be the primary technical authority on-site during your shift, responsible for troubleshooting complex electrical systems, optimizing test equipment, and maintaining a zero-incident safety culture.
Key Responsibilities- System Support: Troubleshoot, service, and maintain plant test equipment and integrated electrical systems to minimize production downtime.
- Testing & Compliance: Develop and refine test equipment specifications, ensuring full compliance with OSHA and Eaton’s MESH safety requirements.
- Root Cause Analysis: Perform failure analysis on electrical control, protection, and instrumentation systems to implement long-term technical solutions.
- Safety Leadership: Enforce NFPA 70E and electrical safe work practices, identifying and remediating potential hazards across the facility.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Product Design teams to improve information systems for testing and controls.
- Project Oversight: Interpret schematics and wiring diagrams to direct the work of electrical contractors during installations or repairs.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or a related technical field from an accredited institution.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a manufacturing setting with a heavy focus on equipment troubleshooting.
- Automation Suite: Proficiency with Rockwell Software, including:
- Factory Talk View ME/SE.
- Technical Testing: Demonstrated experience with NI LabVIEW and NI Test Stand
. - Software/Data: Competency in Visual Basic (VB6/Studio), SQL, and Microsoft applications.
- Technical Literacy: Expert ability to interpret electrical control, protection, and metering schematics.
- 5+ years of experience in industrial electrical maintenance.
- Advanced knowledge of NFPA 70E standards and Electrical Safe Work practices.
- Experience supporting an Engineered to Order (ETO) manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability to operate independently with minimal supervision in a team-oriented setting.
