Facility Engineer
The Facility Engineer is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of building systems, equipment, and infrastructure. This role supports day-to-day facility operations, preventive maintenance programs, vendor management, and continuous improvement initiatives. A formal engineering degree is preferred but not required; candidates with strong technical aptitude, facility operations experience, or relevant certifications are encouraged to apply.
Facility Operations & Maintenance- Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, and mechanical equipment.
- Perform routine inspections of facility infrastructure to identify issues before they escalate.
- Support corrective and preventive maintenance tasks in coordination with internal teams or external service providers.
- Maintain documentation of equipment logs, maintenance schedules, and compliance records.
- Coordinate with service contractors for specialized work such as HVAC tune-ups, electrical repairs, landscaping, janitorial services, and fire safety inspections.
- Review service proposals and evaluate contractor performance.
- Ensure all vendors follow safety protocols and complete work according to company standards.
- Ensure facility operations comply with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Support internal safety initiatives, building inspections, and environment-health-safety (EHS) programs.
- Assist with emergency response procedures, drills, and building evacuation planning.
- Identify opportunities to reduce operational costs through energy efficiency, process optimization, or equipment upgrades.
- Support sustainability initiatives such as waste reduction, water conservation, or HVAC optimization.
- Participate in capital improvement planning and facility upgrade projects.
- Assist with office layout planning, seating arrangements, and relocation coordination.
- Support facility helpdesk tasks such as workspace requests, repairs, and service tickets.
- Maintain inventory of supplies, tools, spare parts, and equipment.
Skills & Qualifications
Experience
- Experience in facility operations, maintenance, building management, or related technical work.
- Exposure to HVAC, electrical systems, mechanical equipment, or building management systems (BMS) preferred.
Technical Skills
- Ability to read technical manuals, equipment diagrams, and basic floor plans.
- Basic understanding of building systems and safety
