Mechanical Engineer

We're hiring a Mechanical Engineer in Waukesha County to join a small, hands-on engineering team supporting industrial equipment manufacturing. This is a role for someone who wants real ownership of projects, from initial design through failure analysis, and who's just as comfortable on the shop floor talking to technicians as they are at a desk in Solid Works.

What you'll do:

• Design and analyze mechanical components, with a focus on gearing, bearings, and mechanical leverage systems
• Work in Solid Works and PDM on drawings ranging from simple parts to complex castings and housings
• Perform failure mode analysis on equipment in the field
• Use 3D scanning to reverse engineer components, including a major initiative on new gearbox models
• Split time between engineering and the shop floor. This isn't a desk-only role. You'll work directly with technicians to understand how designs perform in the real world
• Manage a rotating project load (roughly 5 projects a month) based on your strengths and interests

What we're looking for:

• 4-10 years of mechanical engineering experience in an industrial setting
• Proficiency in Solid Works and PDM
• Solid understanding of how mechanical systems interact, gearing, bearings, torque, leverage. Experience from packaging or non-industrial environments typically isn't a fit
• Someone who wants to build things and see them work, not just sit behind a screen
• A self-starter who can take feedback, retain it, and improve without a lot of hand-holding
