Job Description & How to Apply Below

GE Health Care is seeking a Senior Mixed Signal Design Engineer to join our Digital Controls & Mixed Signal Engineering team. In this role, you will architect and develop advanced mixed-signal electronics that enable some of the world's most sophisticated Magnetic Resonance (MR) imaging technologies.

This is a hands-on technical leadership position for engineers who thrive on solving complex hardware design challenges. You will work across analog and digital interfaces, embedded processing, control systems, power electronics, signal conditioning, communication interfaces, and system integration while collaborating with experts in FPGA, firmware, software, systems, and hardware engineering.

Job Description Essential Responsibilities
  • Lead architecture, design, implementation, and verification of mixed-signal hardware for advanced MR platforms.
  • Design and develop circuit boards incorporating processors, FPGAs, analog circuitry, data converters, communication interfaces, and power management systems.
  • Own schematic capture, design reviews, board bring-up, debugging, and system integration activities.
  • Define and validate interfaces between hardware, FPGA, firmware, software, and mechanical subsystems.
  • Perform circuit analysis, simulation, laboratory characterization, and root-cause investigation of complex system issues.
  • Support PCB layout, signal integrity, power integrity, EMC, reliability, and manufacturability reviews.
  • Develop hardware design standards, reusable architectures, and engineering best practices.
  • Evaluate emerging semiconductor, processor, power management, and interface technologies and influence future platform roadmaps.
  • Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across multiple programs.
  • Support products throughout the full lifecycle from concept and architecture through manufacturing and field support.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of mixed-signal hardware design experience.
  • Experience designing and debugging complex circuit boards containing processors, FPGAs, analog circuits, and communication interfaces.
  • Strong understanding of analog and digital electronics, power systems, signal conditioning, and embedded hardware design.
  • Experience with schematic capture, board bring-up, hardware troubleshooting, and laboratory verification.
  • Experience with industry-standard interfaces such as Ethernet, CAN, USB, SPI, I²C, UART, PCIe, or similar technologies.
  • Experience using oscilloscopes, waveform generators, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, and related laboratory equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience with high-speed digital interfaces and data converters.
  • Experience with SPICE, MATLAB, or similar modeling and simulation tools.
  • Experience in medical devices, aerospace, defense, or other regulated industries.
  • Experience with Design for Reliability (DFR), Design for Manufacturability (DFM), and EMC-compliant design practices.
Desired Characteristics
  • Recognized technical leader in mixed-signal hardware design.
  • Passionate about engineering excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Strong ownership, accountability, and execution mindset.
  • Effective mentor and collaborator.
  • Comfortable influencing technical direction across teams and programs.
