We are looking for a part-time Intern to join our Calumet Family Works team, located at Altgeld Gardens - Murray Homes Sites!
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:- Learns to work with the full family in a collaborative and supportive manner to help, motivate, and inspire individual and family goal setting while allowing the family to drive the work.
- Learns and supports the family to identify strengths and then work with the families to utilize these strengths and build others.
- Develops and utilizes trauma-informed practices.
- Provides services according to values and principles for family-centered coaching.
- Learns and completes intakes and monitor family goals and activities.
- Supports with events and activities within the region to meet client needs and engage individuals, seniors, and households in services.
- Assisting families with meeting site-based requirements and CHA work requirements.
- Utilizing a team approach and working with other program staff in the planning and implementation of services.
- Working effectively with diverse staff and service populations.
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's level social work or psychology program at an accredited college or university is required.
- Demonstrated ability to render adequate service to clients and to organize and manage jobs efficiently.
- Requires mobility to work with a community-based caseload.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and groups.
- Satisfactorily pass all relevant screening and criminal background checks.
- Car is required.
- While performing the essential duties of this internship, the intern is required to sit and stand for sustained periods of time, frequently talk, hear, use hands and fingers to feel, handle, and operate objects or controls, and occasionally stand, bend, stretch, stoop, kneel, and crouch. The intern is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, and viewing a computer terminal.
The intern may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
