Community Health Services is seeking a Clinical Director of Adult Medicine to lead our Adult Medicine Department. This leadership role combines direct patient care with administrative oversight
, ensuring high-quality clinical operations, patient satisfaction, and provider performance.
Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer
, the Clinical Director will collaborate with the Nurse Manager, Practice Manager, and Director of Infectious Diseases to guide departmental strategy, improve workflows, and maintain clinical excellence.
- Provide leadership and oversight for the Adult Medicine Department
- Deliver direct patient care while maintaining high standards of clinical excellence
- Support clinical staff in providing efficient, patient-centered care
- Supervise advanced practice providers including APRNs and PAs
- Improve clinical operations, provider workflows, and patient satisfaction
- Support departmental financial performance and operational efficiency
- Collaborate with leadership to implement departmental strategies
- Participate in enterprise-level initiatives and quality improvement programs
- Recruit, onboard, mentor, and retain clinical providers and staff
- Manage performance and disciplinary processes when necessary
- Foster a culture of collaboration, teamwork, and continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards
- Participate in professional practice evaluations and quality initiatives
- Use data analysis to guide evidence-based decisions
- Graduate of an accredited medical school
- Board Certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- Ability to deliver high-quality patient care efficiently
- Experience working with underserved populations with complex medical needs
- Experience supervising APRNs and Physician Assistants
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to analyze data and make evidence-based decisions
- Experience working with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
- Demonstrated initiative, judgment, and problem-solving ability
- Alignment with the mission and values of Community Health Services
- Physician License in the State of Connecticut
- Experience working in a large health center or private practice
- Experience in leadership roles such as Director or Associate Director
- Experience with:
- Provider recruitment and onboarding
- Staff retention and discipline
- Compliance related to clinical practice
- Strategic planning and departmental leadership
